Betina is widely known as the old seat of great shipwrights and their traditional craft of wooden shipbuilding but the village was also listed among significant monuments of culture and desireable tourist destinations for its charming beauty. Betina's distinctive and picturesque look comes from its traditional architecture with the baroque church of Saint Francis in the center and old cobblestone streets descending around it.
Most of the beaches, as for example Plitka Vala, Zdrače, Bilave and Kosirina, are easily accessible and safe for children. There are numerous activities available in Betina, such as diving, cycling, sailing and swimming schools, which makes this village a perfect choice for families with children. Furthermore, Betina is also a nautical center with its marina that offers 250 berths and a wide assortment of services.
One of the most interesting events is the Regatta of Body and Soul that takes place in mid-August with the purpose of promoting the traditional boat of Betina - the gajeta. Another notable event is the Brganja Day celebrated on the first Sunday in August in memory of the old custom of seashell hunting. This small village is an ideal choice for those who wish for a quiet and peaceful holiday in the surroundings of harmonious architecture, clear sea and intact nature.
